Now, call me nuts. . . I am sure there must be something that is organic to disinfect the sleeves.  Since my illness I have changed alot of things and have used veggie wash on my fruits and veggies to eliminate debris from pesticides and waxes.  There must be something that can kill germs and other residue from sleeves.  I will investigate.  It makes sense to me that things can pass from the sleeve to the dog.

Chris, didn't the judge at the Pittsburgh NASS have an assistant who counted teeth prior to his juding the dogs? Do they do that at all SV shows?

Blitzen,

at the Sieger Show(s), the judge often assigns somebody to do that for him, as well as measuring. There are too many dogs to judge. So, he has help. At a regular show, he does it himself. If you are thinking about Heinz Scheerer, who judged in Pittsburgh, I can tell you that he is very particular about teeth. I assisted him years ago at one of our shows, before he became Federal Breed Warden and he was actually counting teeth. The same thing happened when we hosted a show with the "other Federal Breed Warden", Leonhard Schweikert. He, too counted. Yes, they do that at all SV shows.

Yes, it was Herr Scheerer.  I remember asking someone at ringside why the judge wasn't counting teeth. I was told his assistant was doing that. When I looked where they were pointing, sure enough the dogs were having their teeth counted before their individual exams. Not sure if all the classes were handled that way. I was so interested in watching the young males that year and trying to understand the SV way of judging dogs (you know I'm one of those crazy AKC people) so I didn't see much else.  I also learned to never stand in the doubler's lane LOL.

Jeff, for what it's worth. I thought it was humorous, some people can't take a joke. I guess this thread says "show" we better stay off it.
