Okay. Since this turned in to a horse thread (real and plastic), I have a serious question that is "slighty" tongue in cheek. How come very few men are into horses (except to bet on them)? It seems to be a women or girl thing, by a very large majority. Is it because of the male and female anatomy (this is the tongue in cheek part)? Any serious answers? Any funny answers? I'm just asking ;-)

Policemom,
I LOVE the smell of a horse barn. All the odors together make a wonderful aroma. When I was showing dressage I could spend the whole day at the barn. I would bring my GSD out with me and let her run all over the place. She loved it as much as I did. After riding I would bathe my horse and Asta (my GSD) would lie on the concrete and let the cool water run under her belly.
Do Right,
I think it depends on which riding discipline you're talking about. There are way more men involved in the horse racing world, though there are more and more women grooms, exercise riders and jockeys than ever before. And the western riding world is pretty evenly split. Men still probably dominate the reining and cutting classes. It's the English disciplines that women are more dominant in, but there are still many men who are some of the top riders in the world in dressage, show jumping, and cross country/combined training. Cross country is grueling and takes a some real guts to jump those fences. They don't fall down like the show jumping fences plus you're galloping at much faster pace. You could sort of equate cross country as being the SchH of the horse world. There are 3 phases and only those horses that have what it takes can successfully compete.

I'm not sure either Do Right. I never could find a guy, as horse crazy as I was. That's probably why I gave up and switched to dogs. Not many men can keep up in that department either though.
It's tough finding someone who agrees how to train, feed, care, and how much the dogs should come along or in the house. It's worse than having kids with somebody! I'm teetering on the edge of forgetting men, who needs em anyway? I have my dogs! They listen better, easier to train and don't say my butt is too big. Biggie for me is, they are also easier to clean up after. I have one...(and yes he is male), who back talks but all the other dogs shut up, when I say "enough"! My dog doesn't change the radio station in the car or hog the TV remote either.

It appears that you did not include a healthy diet of German celery in that dogs diet.
