Well, the story that I was given was that three dams were rescued from a GSD breeder up north who could no longer keep her dogs due to a "family emergency". A couple weeks later, they realized the dam was pregnant and called the breeder who said the breeding was intentional, but they didn't think it had taken. An assistant was supposedly sent to pick up the dogs and saw the sire, but he had been adopted out to someone else up north. But funny enough, this person had a pic of the sire to send to me but would never sent a pic of the dam and still has none posted to this day. After browsing their site, I came across the same pic that was linked to the owner's name on FB and contacted him. He informed me that this person with the pups had trained his dog and the breeding had been accidental, but he was getting one of the pups. He sent me more pics of the sire, whose purebred-ness could also be questionable.
Anyways, after learning I was lied to, it pretty much didn't matter whether or not the pups were purebred. And the fact that an irresponsible breeding could take place while someone's dog was in their care, I was pretty sure that ANY dog could have sired those pups, as this person has a WIDE variety of breeds on their property at any time. Though they still deny it to this day, i feel a bit sorry for those that have been convinced they are purchasing purebred GSD's since all the pups are now sold...
Thank you all for pointing out these distinct differences in the ears, nose, and heads. I knew they didn't look right, but couldn't exactly pinpoint it. You guys are right, the EARS are a dead giveaway!

I saw a thread on another board posted by the owner of the little husky looking pup that the kennel/rescue was destroyed in the massive tornado that hit Tuscaloosa :(

Go back and look at the thread about "lack of black muzzles" or something like that... there is someone on this board who has a female and a litter of puppies exactly like that that claims that DNA results proved they were purebred.
uhhhhhhh hmmmmmmm
Could not possibly be true!!
