It would be unfortunate to ignore what is useful information by making a stereotype connection in favor of a utopian view of the individual as always unique in motives and deeds.

Ideally, a person would have realized at least a measure a personal growth and increased awareness of self, prompting a sort of inventory taking, where the answers to some relevant self-posed questions may expose a bias or prejudice.

This is getting way too complicated for me. All I know is that prejudices of any sort are learned behaviors. No one is born that way.

All I know is that prejudices of any sort are learned behaviors. No one is born that way.

The substance of those prejudices may be the result of nurture, but the framework they operate within are the inherent mechanisms of cognition, the nature of the beast.

"The voice of the intellect is a soft one, but it does not rest until it has gained a hearing.  Finally, after a countless session of rebuffs, it succeeds.  This is one of the few points on which one may be optimistic about the future of mankind." Sigmund Freud.

Jezus, Carlin, are you an English professor? Your writing is way over my head, I'm a dumbass ASL owner. Let's call it a day.  I'll let someone on your par to debate the issue if they care to. You and Freud make my brain hurt.

Jezus, Carlin, are you an English professor?

Just a habit, because I do write quite a bit, often taking brakes to lurk here and there; that has a lot to do with the formal tone spilling over into forum posts.  It betrays me some, because my persona is far from what you and others can probably imagine.

by Blitzen on 25 July 2013 - 20:07

Now I have stereotyped you, Carlin Devil Smile Have a good one.
