No shtal,
I won't stand before any god to be judged, that is just a myth.
You may live your life anyway you want and no one will mind, as long as you do not inflict it on others.
Bee,
According to the bible man ate the fruit of the forbidden tree of knowledge and became (smart), aware of himself.
Your answer was no better.
I also heard from someone else he did it to honor himself, his glory, but you think he did it because he was lonesome.
(To get to the other side, a chicken is too stupid to know what a road is.)
I would love to believe in extra terrestrials, It brings tears to my eyes when I watch Close Encounters, but even if they exist in some other part of any of the universes you have to ask yourself, why would they come here even if they had that capability.
Yeah it would be cause for alarm as it should be.
If we discovered a life form on Mars, do you think we'd just leave it alone, I don't.
Point is no one has the answer to the question why.
All of the possibilities are frightening if you really think it through.
This is one of the things we could discuss, if people did not have to be absolute about their particular views.
My parents taught me not to discuss religion in public for this very reason, it always ends badly.

IMO this whole thread has gone totally to hell. Last night when I read all it till Bee's last remark, I had an amusing thought. What if, all the different ways we believe each had a different Creator depending on one's beliefs and they are all sitting up on a cloud having their Sat nite beer and laughing about us down here and what we are all arguing about? And what if we all, when we die, go to the different Creators to pay our dues? That there my friends is the ultimate solution..........
Moons about what you said about life forms on other planets? Well I watch that show when I can catch it "Ancient Aliens" and how they could have helped people do different things--like build the pyramids and move those hugh statues around at Easter Islands and that kind of stuff. Anyway I've been into that show lately and I truly believe it's very possible.
One more comment and I am done. Bee I think it wasyou who brought up the upcoming date of Dec 21. The one people think are going to become a doom date. Now this is JMO and just my take on it. From a native point, the ndns I know believe that you don't mess around with other tribes "medicine" and sacred ways. When you do it brings bad karma upon oneself. So in other words that's not something I am worried about because its not my beliefs................

Awareness came from sin, meaning they understood they can have sex, but at first they were like regular kids. (Edit: They where intelligent, wise and smart but not knowing anything about sin)
My idea God knew this wil happen, so he let it happend witout interfering in order for people to muliply on earth and gave them full choice to choose right from wrong, so if we learn to love God without seeing him, then God will be confident when people or I would say worthy people will see him again, they will not go rebellion against him, meaning God.

vonissk,
I love your point about messing with other tribes medicine and sacred ways.
One of my strongest views is just about that exactly, do unto others, what goes around comes around, and karma can be altered.
Respect another's views by not trying to change them because you always end up using force to achieve the desired results.
Man has tried to do this to the natives of every land he conquered.
If they couldn't assimilate them they did their best to kill them.
I watched men move the statues on Easter Island, they got the idea from ancient word of mouth accounts, the statues walked to their resting points.
Through out history man has shown great knowledge only to loss it when civilizations fell, I give man that credit not aliens.
This would explain the Aztec's as well as many other current day myths.
Thousands of years ago men knew what we are capable of and what would happen sooner or later, because they had seen it happen before.
Yeah this whole topic was flawed from it's inception, because someone demanded they were right and all others wrong, made threats of what happens to those who are different attempting to convert.
That is what I stand against, plus if we are to save ourselves and our planet we must get past all that.

Arguing about whether or not religion is right or science is right about whatever is absolutely pointless. Each person has their own personal beliefs, whether right or wrong and that's not likely to be changed by any point anyone makes.
Imposing your personal beliefs on others by saying "You're going to be judged by my god someday and it's not going to go well!", is pretty disrespectful of the other persons belief. I'd say you deserve to get chastised at that point.
The other side could just as easily say "You're going to have a 1/4 second moment of clarity when your lights get shut off where you realize 'Oh, this sucks! There really is no after life and all that time I spent praying and reading that book of fables was a waste!'", which could equally be considered rude.
Nothing bugs me more than someone saying "you're going to hell when you die!" I immediately start thinking "You're asking for it..."

This is what immediate comes in into my mind.
Thomas Huxley who was called Darwin’s Bulldog he really promoted Darwin, and his Grandson Julian Huxley said “I suppose the reason why we leapt at the Origin of species - in other words the reason we believe in evolution” was the idea of God interfered with our sexual morays” ouch, now we have the truth is coming out, some people just don’t like God telling them what to do, that is the bottom line.

Hi Bill,
Your not rude at all, you've expressed your opinion very nicely.
I enjoyed it.

shtal,
how do you turn this into sex, I mean seriously.
You are starting to embarrass yourself now.
You know Darwin didn't get everything right, and he didn't cover everything, I'll grant you that.
But to think it has anything to do with sexual morays is going to lose any and all credibility you might have ever had.

Moons I saw that show too--about them moving those statues. It wasn't Nova but that other Nova show that comes on right after it--I think but I do know it was on PBS. I liked it so much I watched it when it was on at the regular time and then again when it came on early in the morning.
And what youi said about the civilizations--very true. I believe they all outdid themselves at one point or another. The same way we are outdoing ourselves as we speak. And that last sentence --I said that years ago even before computers--computers have definately increased it and put us more on a downhill slide, IMO. So in short form, we are technologicaling (made up word) ourselves to death.
Wildbill, gotta love someone named that and I like your dog too. Anyway I agree with you and glad you chimed in. We need to hear some different voices................
Shtal I'm with Moons--you're losing it boy. I told you before about the hole you are digging yourself. Now in your plan of God letting them "just be kids" where does incest fit into your program? Because in order to repopulate the earth according to your Bible, everybody in the beginning had to be committing it. So if it was OK way back then, then why is it not now? And see that goes into another thing where 2 and 2 will never make 4. Wasn't the flood and Noah and all that in Genesis? Well now if we only started with Adam and Eve then how in the hell did they make enough people for that area to become populated enough for people to be making fun of Noah and them all getting flooded out? And to take that on to another leval if only Noah and his family, other than the animals,.were on that Ark, then we are talking about more incest and not long after that here was another big group of people doing things and having wars. Philistines and Sumarians and on and on. The Tower of Babel. Now where did all those people come from?
You see you can put down Darwin and his theories all you want and you can refuse to believe in evolution which is fine BUT at least Darwin kept things chronological to where they made sense--in an order. Even the chapter of Genesis has no order. PERIOD. So that sort of blows that right out of the water doesn't it? Of course I know you won't be able to answer any of this because you and your other partner in crime's defense is to quote scripture. I'm sick of scripture. I want some real answers. The bottom line is there is none. You have one set of people writing one thing and that's supposed to be it-how we all got here. I don't know how we got here. I don't believe in a big bang theory--that doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.
