I'm out of this discussion 🙂.

My black male, Dolf is the best example. He is a super super super dog. Healthy as a horse but his pedigree is rather extreme when it comes to Yoschi and Fero that you have to be very careful how you use him in my opinion because you can breed yourself into a corner with him.

Thank you everyone for your responses! This thread has given me a lot to think about, and this site is turning out to be an awesome resource for people like me who are just getting started. (Some people collect stamps, cars, ect. What do I do? Dogs. I'm pretty sure dogs are more expensive than cars.)
From what I understand Sharon has very good drives and is a very solid dog, and I'm going to see if I can see anything about him in action. Mother is a little more of an unknown, but I'm going to see if I can find out more about her. I have seen pictures and conformation wise she is very much in the line of what I am looking for, but I am curious to learn more about her temperment. The mention of back problems is a concern to me though. Yes, I do want a competition dog and I want to make the right decision, but it is more important to me for the dog to be sound and healthy even if he/she doesn't turn out for working. Mother has had one litter last year, and I am going to try to get in contact with some of the dog owners from that breeding to see what I can learn about what she produces, even if it was with a different male and then make the decision from there whether I want to take the chance on this litter, go with a different litter, or look at some other opportunities. I still have quite a bit of time before the litter whelps so there is no hurry to make a decision right this second.

You stated the female has had one litter.
How experience with whelping litters and raising puppies is the dam's owner? The experience of the owner of the dam is as important as the dogs themselves.
You can take the best bred, best temperament pair of dogs, and put the dam in the hands of a very inexperienced individual, and end up with a mess.
Things like overfeeding the puppies, raising them in a swimming pool, not getting them weaned properly, ...etc. Lots goes into a litter and how they are raised makes or breaks them.
