Do not use Rimadyl. We did the regular blood work, liver , kidneys always fine....then my dog died, did necropsy-turned out he did die from Rimdadyl-Pfizer paid all vet bills. (thats the short version) It effects more than the liver or kidneys. And the odds suck if its your dog that dies from it. http://www.srdogs.com/Pages/rimadylfr.html
I have heard a lot of people in dog sport use Nujoint.

Kelly what is HA?

by Kelly M Shaw on 22 March 2007 - 20:03
Trailrider,
HA is Hyaluronic Acid. I give it to my 9 year old once a day. I get it at kvvets.com, and I also have all my dog's on springtime. Springtime is all natural and I've been using it for 2 years now. I have it as a link on my website, but their website is www.springtimeinc.com. They have everything from bug off to keep flies, ticks, mosquitos away to joint relief, etc. I had absolutely no ticks or flies on my dog's last year and it was a bad year for ticks and mosquito's. They all passed their heart worm test too. I personally recommend both products.

Kelly - do you ever use Fresh Factors from Springtime?

by Kelly M Shaw on 22 March 2007 - 23:03
Renz,
I use fresh factors, bug off, and joint health. I only use joint health for my 9 year old. I really like the results with everything that I use from them. Bug off has a very strong garlic smell, so if you can deal with your dog having a garlic breath for awhile then I would use it. I've had nothing but good from springtime and HA.

I personally use both Cosequin and Metacam for my 11 year Rotti. I give him two tablets of Cosequin daily with his food and the Metacam is given twice weekly. He had severe pain getting up and moving around, but since he's been on the Cosequin and Metacam he's pain free and moves around without any stiffness and can run around now. JMO.

Kelly thanks! I will check it asap. Its good when someone trying it has had results vs random selection going only on web sites ads. I feel so bad for my girl. She still wants to go and does take walks everyday but is exercise intolerant. To much and she limps bad. Again I won't use the pain meds.

I prefer to try all natural first, compared to the risks that are involved with manufactored pain meds. Please let me know if it helps her, and Good Luck!!!
