One thing that needs to be made plain is that the database is not an official registry like the SV or AKC. The pedigree information entered is only as accurate as the member who enters it is able to make it. Sometimes mistakes are made (I recently corrected an entry where both parents of a dog were listed as 'male' 
) either accidentally, or, more rarely, on purpose.
