I totally understand the need for ads and don't even mind the expanding ads if there was only a way to close them.

If you look in the lower right corner there is an X and it will close the ad. I will talk with Oli to try and find a place for expanding ads so they do not interfere with the main content of the page. I think most of the ads have Xs if you need to close any of them. edited to add: I have found some of the expanding ads without Xs so I have contacted Oli to see what he can do.
Like I tried to say in the post above all members should consider turning off there ad blockers here. I personally have turned of my ad blocker and ghostery here. It is very easy to disable them for this one free site. Oli deserves it.

I don't mind them unless they appear as a banner and cover part of the message I'm reading. Then they are PIA's and very annoying.

From Oli:
"I have added an overflow directive that should hide the ad if it breaks the rule that it should be long"
This issue should be fixed and I implore you all to turn off ad blocker here and other things that block the ads..

Thanks, Oli & thanks to you as well GSD Admin. I don't mind the ads either, and understand why they are necessary, but it does become problematic when they go awry as is the case recently with some of them. I also have a problem with the ads that autoplay a video but don't provide a way to stop them...having very limited bandwidth available to me, autoplay video ads can suck the data GB out of my plan like a vampire.

I am having the same issue also. Its only on here. I use firefox. This happened a while back also. I installed the software suggested and it worked until now. it started about 2-3 days ago.

Please provide a screenshot because the expanding ads are fixed so you shouldn't have any problems with the expanding ads at this time.
