Isn't that last year's rule change, not this year's? I don't notice anything different.

Jenni, I looked at it recently as early as December, and nothing as far as I can see has changed. This was put into place later in the year. If they are going to change it even more they haven't done it so far that I know of.

this is not american regulation but european, we cannot ship pups under 15 weeks of age and with rabies shot period

if some airline doesnot check or you change date in passport is different thing but rules are as I described above

now if you dont ship cargo and go with pup as acces luggage you have good chance the people on airport are not aware of new rules also

already one man in germany got 7 dogs taken from him because paperwork was not right, he has to pay a big fine to get his dogs back

was stated that a man lost his 8 dogs Please tell me did this have to do with  him needing a broker

it is going around that all importers need to get a broker now

I have recently imported and did not use a Broker. I did not need one as the Airport I used was near a Customs office.  I took the paper work to them got cleared and then picked up my dog and went home.

Check to see if the  Airport you are using is near one.  Remeber it needs to be a direct flight not a connecting one.  The fist point of entry to the US is where you need Customs.  If the dog has to connect to another flight to reach you, you will need help.

Check with the airport  cargo dept they can tell you where to find a customs office.

Each point of entry has it's own rules. Atlanta requires a broker, the same shipment to Raleigh and Charlotte do not. All international airports have customs....International is the key word. Call customs where the dog is entering and they will tell you if you need a broker...having a broker makes picking the dog up a thousand times easier. Walk in at cargo, sign and take your dog and leave. Going to customs with paper work after the dog landed can take hours, adding on to the time the dog is in the crate. It's worth the two hundred extra.
