Nate:
You should write for a serial story, that is true drama at it,s best! You can portray yourself very well as the wounded party of great conspiracy hatched by my evil self. It sounds good for a sound bite. And where after i read my couple of lines several times have i called any thing you produce "Shitty" ? You and I both know it,s just the opposite, how many times in countless threads emails and contacts have i listed you as a top breeder with good dogs? you and I both know more then we can count on our fingers and toes, how many times have you messaged me with thanks for the plug?
I,m sure your new dog is a great prospect as i started the original post with.
My comment has validity, Why arent our top breeders campaigning there own lines and breedings more? Nate I know you don,t have toilet paper for skin so the idea that i cut you to the quick is laughable.
But really, Why is it so offending to our breeders to ask about working and campaigning there own dogs? I,d have no problem asking a 5 star chef why he doesn't eat in his own restaurant? Or why a General won,t go into battle with his own troops?
I,m sure you saw something in this dog or it,s lines you felt were note worthy and possibly yes will accentuate your previous breedings maybe you just liked the dog thats great!
We stand with a organization that could and should do a better job highlighting dogs that are bred here from breeders in the US not just dogs that stand on Podiums or on Magazine covers but dogs that are bred here serving mankind in more important ways dogs that are S&R dogs, Police K-9,s , Therapy Dogs,Assistance dogs, the list goes on and on.
Enjoy your weekend and if you found real offense to my querry I do appoligize but if you think i put you on the spot with a simple question I just have to say get over it.
I still say as before you produce good dogs and would be a benefit to any one looking for a dog or new pup.

I agreed to Bob´s post, not because I´m against you, but because I´m against the way of Americans breeding German Shepherds.
I totally understand that there is a point in breeding when you need "fresh blood", that´s why I agreed to Keith´s post, too, BUT I´m a firm believer that there are a lot of very good dogs in your country people are able to use, but these dogs need to be trained and trialed in some venue.( not even talking about SV standards right now ). Breeders AND buyers need to think different - not every dog coming from "good old Germany " is the best dog you are able to find.
Why don´t the breeders over there work together, almost all bloodlines are represented in your country, developing the own recources would be more efficient in the long run ( for all parties involved - maybe except the brokers and importers ).
That´s how I understood Bob´s post, maybe I´m wrong, but that´s what I think about this matter.
Kind regards,
Susie

I agree, Susie. I don't disagree with the premise Bob is speaking of whatsoever. It's just not the thread for that- Nate didn't even start this himself, so to use a thread about his new dog as a place to criticize a breeder not using only his own H.O.T. dogs seems like a bit of a dig, not a theoretical question, hence my reply. New blood is essential- just as essential as proving our own homebred dogs. If he'd started a thread about it, fine. I agree. But I think it was poorly timed, at least.

You are right.

Until you working guys settle this, don't forget I get first dibs on this dog and it doesn't matter to me if he bites or not .
Seriously, Susie echos what I've been thinking for years, why don't GSD breeders in the US work together more? I've honestly never seen anything like the competition within this breed. It's cannibalistic. If you did that you could rule the GSD world you know. I'm going back to my original breed where breeders support one another.

If the dog came from Josef Mravik, I hope Nate make sure the dog is completely healthy!
Heartworms, infected anal sacks, pannis, and joint issues in back and shoulders....etc.

Bob you wanna camp out on a keyboard and criticize without factual basis someone that is doing, while you are not doing. You are never anything but polite to my face and then pull some crap like this with then half ass apologies and "get over it" statements. Had you read where I currently have between 6-10 dogs from my kennel raising for competition and inclusion into my kennel program and that my two most recent litters each contained a titled Sportwaffen male or female as a parent, both out of my competition male I raised from a 7 week old puppy to a SchH3, IPO3, FH, Kkl1 legend, you would've just simply admitted you are wrong. Because you are wrong. And for you to try and judge me is beyond absurd. I have worked god damned hard and sacrificed and earned what I have here and I don't take it lightly when it is unfairly attacked or painted in an unfair light for no reason of factual basis. Especially by someone I thought was a friend. It wasn't right. Period.
Now I've got Kim jumping in this. What is wrong with you people? Kim you know I've spoken to you about the bad experience you claim. You called and told me before so I know this wasn't some private warning to me. This is just a jump off on Josef. I wasn't involved in your dealing you allege, so I won't touch it. But I have personally imported a TON of sport, breeding, and police dogs from Josef. I consider him a friend. He has never, not one single time, lied to me or tried to get over on me or anything. I have been completely utterly happy in every transaction over years and years and years. And that man has sold thousands of dogs all over the world and continues to do so. So he can't be all bad.
This is why I really hate Internet dog forums. The stuff just like this. I want you to think about it: my friend posts hey look Nate got a new dog can't wait to see him type statement. Then one person immediately attacks his kennel as a whatever (a kennel consistently considered one of the TOP working line breeders in the US, even by the person attacking), and then another' brings their personal agenda in to attack another top person in the world of dogs and maybe even suggest or imply that my new top sport dog that is in my opinion one of the most perfect representations of a working line GSD I've ever seen is in fact maybe really riddled with health problems which is complete and utter bullshit. This dog has been fully health checked in both Europe and here. By all means if you have proof otherwise then you state it. Unbelievable.
I work my ass off to run a respected kennel and spend 5-6 years searching everywhere for the new blood I want to bring in, I acquire a top male into the United States, and when I find it and a friend comments on it, I have to hear this nonsense? F--- a bunch of that. Should be ashamed of yourselves. Really uncalled for and inappropriate. Does not paint you well.
