Cutaway, thanks for the info.

Mine sits most of the time to but when I need  it, I need it.

Good idea with the receiver on your leg.  It is an easy tool to over/mis use.

Dogtra is coming out with a new ARC that the box is more like the Martin, the Educator remote is big and akward and can get turned around in your hand  , you can easily learn to adjust the the remote without looking by practicing zeroing it out and going up with your thumb and finger  or add a rubber ring to the dial that helps, go to Dogtras new facebook they are having a contest you cam win one

I have two Dogtras (1200 NC and a 2300 NCP). I loved the 1200. Did not care for the 2300 (inconsistent stim and horrible battery life). The battery died finally in the 1200 after 13 years. The battery in the 2300 quit taking a charge after less than 2 years. I now have a Tritronics pro 500 and am loving it. Easy to use. Consistent stim and long battery life during usage. I haven't had it long enough to know how long the battery will survive over time. The transmitter being the size of a lightsaber would be my only complaint. :)

you can buy batteries for the Dogtra they do usually last two years, but the collars last forever I have a dozen that are the original 200 they had,   tri tronics has always had those phallic symbol remotes, If you have not used a collar before get the Dogtra you don;'t need all this crazy ''stim'' lock ''stim'' jump stuff in fact avoid using that strange term''stim''  at all  !!! the best bet for first time user is to condition with the pager add the nick later in the same place , you can get spectacular results on the recall and not risk contractiong the muscle using the nick or continuous for initial conditioning plus you can use it on puppies just set the nick on zero
