The problem with the idea of penalties, is that they do not solve the solvency problem! The idea can not work on the "income" from a penalty. It requires the premiums to be met by a healthy populace who who will not make claims, to be a successful program!

Please don't tell me what i can post or where I can post something. LMFAO.

By all means, troll away.  Here, found this for you.  Maybe you could insert it in place of the obligatory acronyms, since you seem to feel whatever you have to offer is somehow inadequate to stand alone.

I don't like auto insurance, home insurance or flood insurance so I shouldn't have to pay for these illegal things.

If I need to explain to you how Obamacare differs from auto or home insurance, you are a long way from where we are with the conversation in this thread.

Well lets let it be a program first and then we will see. I heard so much BS before this even got started and most of what the sky is falling crowd said has not come true.

Carlin,

The point being is if you want to police where and what people post here, good luck and you will be the only person posting so at that point all your opinions will be awesome, cause no one will ever disagree with you. Since you are not an admin or moderator here I really wouldn't worry about who posts what where, it makes you look silly because plenty of other members post off topic on all kinds of threads. Or wait does your new rule only apply to ME. SMH.

BTW, the conversation is so awesome in this thread and my sarcasm is so bad it degrades this great thread. Have you read the 2nd post? SMH

The PEOPLE  of all races that cannot afford Insurance Health were at the Social Security office yesterday in line by about 200 before 3pm when they shut the doors and they cannot afford it so they are enrolled at the SS office in a WELFARE program   THE guard officer was so mad he never even smiled all day...we got delayed till last minute and waited 5 hours to be seen...about a Medicare change for 2 people not on welfare..

SO anyone who cannot afford it , usually doesnt pay Income tax in fhe second place and are on wellfare so they get all they need. WHY would they even be fined..THE IRS asks you on your filing this year...DO YOU HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE>>>no proof just do you,,,>? so how they gonna fine anyone that does not even file..THEY are on welfare.

Just to be fair GSD I didn't think anyone was suggesting that you couldn't or shouldn't post certain ideas on this thread. It is the OT after all, and we are all
aware of the rules. Rather it would be more beneficial to the topic you were referring to, to give it it's own thread. Jmo :)

Sky falling? Sorry, not the type, but I'm sure you can find one easily enough. I deal with the facts, and they are out there. I think you assume to much, and tend to take things at face value with a simplistic approach. At the base level, our system is unsustainable. The idea that we can continue this pipe dream and also democratize it globally is absolutely ridiculous.

by beetree on 25 March 2014 - 17:03

GSD: The sky is not falling; it just will be an expense that one did not have before. The trajectory for such an expense based on what I already explained about ponzi schemes can only cause the costs to go up, if the base is not covered. Penalties alone can not cover the base. Hope alone isn't exactly what is needed here. Some might argue it is irresponsible to even be in such a dilemna, perhaps?

There are secondary considerations, too. The whole bureacracy thing. The way money gets diverted along the path. All that. Is any benefit going to actually be worth all that ... graft and gravy train?
