I suggest you take a careful look at West German showline puppies out of US(NASS) VA3 Teejay von Wilhendorf. Teejay has superb working temperament that is as good as any profung winner. The dog is highly intelligent, easily trainable, truly amazing mentally and has great pigment and clean joints. He carries the highly respected temperament of VA Enzo through VA Nero (a dominant working temperament line that is solid, and calm around people). I think this dog is an amazing up and comer and should turn out to be a top producer of temperament, good proportions, and excellent balanced movement. Good luck in your search. And of course Eagle of Eichenluft is rock solid and superb mentally and has produced very nice working temperamented GSDs (plus he is very nice looking for a working line dog).

Don't forget to talk to Kirchenwald Kennels in Pennsylvania. They have always had the best true working temperament in their highly rated showline W. German imports. They imported the highly esteemed VA Utz von Hirschel(well respected in West Germany), who had perfect proportions, excellent confirmation and movement, great bone and was one of the hardest, most sane dogs ever imported into the USA (a truly impressive, worthy dog in every way with a great mind). All of their males are truly masculine with big heads and have true working temperament even though they are showline dogs. A significant number of their GSDs have been highly ranked in the W. German Sieger Show such as Zeke. These dogs are legendary for their excellent working temperament, good movement and good looks.

www.wilmothdogs.com This breeder is very active in schutzhund- titling their dogs on the field and in the ring. Both she and her husband are certified K9 officers breeding and using showlines in police work. Their one showline male is schH3, KKL-1 and a certified working K9. Think if you are looking for a breeder emphasizing working ability in a showline; this is a breeder who understands the selection of breeding pairs/bloodlines with the traits you desire.
