If you need more practical sorts of help (entry forms, transport,
grooming etc) but can find no one among the other members
of your handling class that could mentor you, I honestly think
it unlikely you will get that from PDB. Not enough collie fans
and exhibitors posting - though you could try posting on the
Rough Collie Forum, rather than the general Conformation board,
you might get a bit of 'passing trade' that way.
In many ways, Showing is showing, anyone who shows regularly
with another breed should be able to advise you a bit; but again
this is not a place where very many active, committed Show people
hang out.
I think the best advice you have been given is to start with the Collie
Club, and present them with specific questions about what you need.
The other thing you can do is attend a few Shows, minus your own
dog, and just sit by the Collie ring and chat to other exhibitors. You
may make good, helpful friends.
