OK, so Hukka has given the rest of Kondor's litter.
Sired by Karlo Volkersberg, out of Gescha D/f;
Gescha has her pedigree on this dbase, haven't
looked for dad yet. Br: Claudia Gutshe, in Steinburg.
What else do you need, OP ?
If the K litter is only a year old or so, there won't be
much on his siblings in the way of progeny and titles,
only on the dogs in the pedigree. German Showline.
[Erbe & Hexe, agree about the phones thing; have found
it pretty inconvenient in all sorts of arenas, not just re
dogs !]

Thank everyone for their help.
We've been given the name and address of the breeder and have an offer of help in correspondence.
The tattoo registry has already sent them a letter with my contact information.
At the very lest, knowing his ancestry will help knowing his health and temperament genetics
Best regards to everyone!

Hope you do find out useful things; and some will become
obvious from Kondor himself while you are fostering.
Best of luck in placing him (or are you tempted to keep
him yourself ?).

He is a very nice boy. I plan to take him training with me this weekend and we'll see how he does.
I dont intend to keep him permanently, but he will stay with us until he has a little OB on him and we find the perfect home.

We are trying to get a phone number for you too. Let's see what we can find out. Kondor is def. registered with the SV so I'm surprised that there are no papers for him. Did the original owner have papers for him? If not, you should try to get them because the papers ALWAYS belong to the dog.

The broker that imported the dog refuses to give them to her. He put her off repeatedly until she gave up. She knew nothing about his ancestry except his parents were registered and show dogs. This isn't the first time we've seen this from this guy. This is the third dog we've had direct involvement with that all have the same problem...spend 1500-3000 on a puppy (always long coats too btw) and never get papers. One lady also paid $3000 up front for training and he refused to train the dog when she showed up for lessons. His excuse was the dog was fat and he wouldn't have a fat dog on his property,so you need to leave now. He targets people that dont know any better, and of course there is NEVER a contract for them to pursue the matter.
Kondor aka Kai' owner had a change of life situation and doesn't think she can keep him. She is trying to do right by the dog but didn't have a clue as to his genetic history. He is a good looking boy and with a little work building drive, would probably enjoy the sport. I cant see putting a lot of work into a dog that cant compete at a championship competition. Even participation in AKC events is more limited without registration papers.
At the moment we are fostering the dog while she tries to find a way to be able to keep him. If that isnt possible, then we will find him a new home. Since most of my contacts are people that are into dog competition's they too would like his papers if possible. If we cant get the paperwork, we'll find him a pet home. Seems a shame to limit his potential that way because of paperwork. He is enjoying going with us to our training group and not just being a couch potato.
Your efforts in our behalf are truly and sincerely appreciated!

Chris, its sad that if he was to learn more work he still
could not compete without his papers. But IMO that
still should not be a reason not to train. If he enjoys it
and it is good exercise, then he should still be doing
it, whether there is a podium at the end or not. GSDs
are born to work, and part of the responsibility of owning
one or more of them is to give them that outlet, and for an
owner to participate as much as possible with the dog, as
part of their bonding. There is a lovely thred up at this very
moment with video of a dog who has "No pedigree, no Titles"
but is still a bloody good dog at bitework and obviously has
a ball when he goes to Club. Check it out. I'd hate to think
that Kai might end up on someone's carpet as a pure 'pet', with
just a walk around the block or a yard to run in all the time
- although in the end result, I suppose any safe and comfortable
home is better than nothing ! That is aside from the chaos a
young dog CAN cause if kept purely as a housepet without
adequate outlet for his energy.
Have you tried to do anything about this broker, who you have
now had three run-ins with ? EG expose him through RipOff,
or publicise details on here or Working Dog EU, etc ? Good
luck if you go that route at trying to get him [?] closed down !

It´s possible to ask for new pedigrees from SV, but you need proof of current and former ownership,
That said, everybody who owned the dog formerly ( in this case the breeder and maybe one or two former owners ) needs to sign a sales contract, mostly within Germany it´s written down on the backside of the pedigrees ( and hopefully was submitted to SV ).
Main problem might be the broker - was the dog directly sold to the current owner or was he sold to the broker ??? Did the current owner pay everything the broker asked for?
As Bärenfang said - the pedigrees always belong to the dog - if the dog is fully paid the current owner is able to sue the broker.
If the broker states that the pedigrees are lost, the current owner needs a written sales contract from the broker, and any other former owner back to the last owner known by SV.
Then SV will print new pedigrees for the current owner.

He just puts people off and puts them off until the give up. There is never a contract, so if the owners were to try to take him to court it is he said / she said, and most of them dont care enough to do anything about it. Our one client, the lady gave up trying. She had bought two dogs from him but she loved her girls and in the end decided it didnt matter if she had her papers. The others we became involved when the owners couldnt keep them and since it is no longer their problem.........
Since I had no direct business dealings with the guy, I have no legal standing before the court. All I can do is warn people.
As a matter of fact, just 10 minutes ago I got a call from the broker. The microchip company contacted the breeder who contacted the broker.
He wanted my address so he could come and get "his" dog.
I told him I was at work and it wasn't convenient to talk but I would call him later when I had time.
I'll have a frank conversation with him later tonight
