I have fed Iams and solid gold. Does anyone have any opinions good or bad on these. Someone said Iams isn't good and I once had someone tell me Iams and Science Diet were about the same. Any feed back would be great!! Thanks

Science Diet is crapppp! Iams is not too bad, Ive been in touch with the vet tech at Iamms with concerns of rumors I heard about their labs , etc and the lady vet on staff use to work for OFA and she is adimant that vets dont get nutrition in their degrees...THEY KNOW VERY LITTLE.... a breeder knows what lines they have and what is required .....Iamms sent me mega phamphlets about the need for calcium and phosphorus levels and importance of slow growth with large breed puppy food,,,,,Ive seen some great working dogs on Iamms but I like Royal CANIN and Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and Rice with added raw meats...no supplements or vitamins on pups or adults unless pregnant or sick!!!!!Exceed Lamb & Rice is also a choice I use also.....from Sams.......

Iams adavised me that an employee turned out to be a Peta member that will do anything to get at u if u test any animal and she did...THey never have any cruel testing and dont abuse any animal in the labs and the incident she blew the pics up nd altered them were of a pet that had to have surgery immediatly on a table to save its life and no time to get prepared so Peta person filmed it and went out of Lab and started her attack.....Iamms says People ought to know better than believe that a reputable co like them, would take a chance of ruining their reputation with such bad procedures and reports of abusal to sell a product....their labs are open for inspection and they welcome any questions and hope people will ask questions........I did not see the CBS interview or did not know about it till last month, when a friend of mine told me what they had heard,,I call Iamms immed and discussed it with themmmm...I always go to the source....and suggest anyone else wanting to know the real facts do the same.....their 800 number is on all their products.....

Just came back to read some of the posts on this forum and thought I should give you my comment. Many responsible good breeders in Germany request that you feed your new puppy Eukanuba. I would never feed anything else, although there are probably a few other good brands on the market. Puppy arrives and gets his dish of soaked Eukanuba right at the airport, and will never eat anything else but Eukanuba.
