WoW! So glad everything turned out well! Sorry everyone had to go through such a fright. I was so glad to see that the networking and the right people found each other, so your daughter would be reunited with her dog.

Jackie
Sad isn't it. You will never know, but someone sure took the heart out of her.  It sounds like your family have more than enough heart to rebuild hers, over time.
Hugs to her and to you all for your love for her.

Oh Jackie I am so happy you found her. I was fixing to go smoke for you guys and make everybody cross their paws here.  I can tell in the one pic she is very timid. I am going to send all the smoke and good vibes I can muster up for her to finally relax and enjoy the good life.  As much doggy love you have n your family she'll be OK. At least I a going to believe so anyway--being the eternal optimist...............

She is such a beautiful looking dog. When I was first married, we brought home a little shepherd from an ad in the paper. The puppies were downstairs in the basement and were so scared. Little Cali was so timid and frightened of everybody and everything. She would squeeze behind the lazy boy and just stay there for hours. It took months and months for her to come out of her shell. All the neighbourhood children would come and play with her and she would just shiver on the deck. Eventually, though she came around, and was probably one of the brightest and nicest dogs we have ever owned.  Tell your grand daughter not to give up or get discouraged. One day, when she least expects it a light will go off and things will turn around.  We bought blocks and blocks of cheddar cheese.  My father says today that if cheddar cheese hadn't been invented he never would have been able to pat and walk our Cali. I am so glad you found her.

Thank you for the smoke & good vibes, she sure needed them, & still does!
And what a beautiful story, little Cali!
Sky won't accept food from anyone's hands, excepting my granddaughters, & only once in a while. We have tried every tempting thing, liverwurst, cheese, meat, & fish, treats, ice cream.....nothing. She won't eat at all if anyone's watching her. I suggested that Jen try a drape over her crate at mealtime, & she feels more secure with that, & will eat. It's going to be a long haul with her, but were not going to give up. She's family now!!
