K9gsdlvr, if the dog you are talking about is the one in the picture you posted, that is not working line.

Riven - good one!

K9gsdlvr - http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/dog.html?id=1629 this would be a GSD with structure that Captain Max von Stephanitz envisioned. It would have been born toward the end of his involvement with the SV and also towards the end of his life.

SitasMom, did you read the comments on that dog? Hussan?

k9gsdlvr, that's a handsome dog in your avatar, can't tell much about the one on the couch. but if they are the same, it is s/l not w/l.

anyway, you seem to be off to a rough start but if you stick around there are some pretty good people.

best,
Rik

I would be careful not to look at dogs described as old time German Shepherds, breeders advertising these dogs are not breeding to any standard but are breeding oversized monsters. They brag about females that weigh 130 pounds and males much larger, Dogs this big will become couch potatoes as their hips and elbows give out on them.

GSD-admin...obviously SM did not read that, it says the creation of that dog could habe hastened the end of vom Stephanitz (too funny).
SM-that dog was comtrary to his reccomendations (not to mention a gazillion faults) SM, that is such a bad pick, I would delete it if I were you

The top part of Hussan's comment that discusses faults he passed along reads like something Malcolm B. Willis wrote.  If I could find my copy of The German Shepherd Dog: A Genetic History, I'd put money on that comment coming from that book.
