Red Sable

If my dog ever even hinted that he'd do that to a child, it would be taking a one way trip 6 ft under.
I can't believe the owner hadn't seen signs before this.  That dog had no business being off leash!

I agree with you Jon Rob, GSD's are supposed to inherently love children.  I'm talking children here not teenagers.  That is one of the reasons I loved this breed to begin with, and so far all mine have.
They should not be attacking unprovoked,  nor looking at children like tasty rabbits.

I don't know what breed of dog that was in the video.  Whatever it was, I hope it is no longer.

"...my GSD who won't hurt a little kid even if they yank his tail but will protect me from the bad guys."

LMAO!  Yeah, sure he will.

Another case of criminally stupid dog owner making it hard on owners who are responsible.  And of course his dog will ultimately pay for his owners disregard of responsible ownership.  That poor girl and mother/grandmother (?) will both be having nightmares for a long time.  Hope they are able to get professional help for the little girl in learning to cope with what happened to her.

The upside, and it's a huge one, IT WAS NOT A GSD!!!

Geez, that dog came out of no where!

I agree with everyone here. A good dog should have the sense to know what is a threat and what isn't.

That didn't look like a Pit Bull, to me, when I watched the video. I also didn't think it was because if it was, you'd think the words "Pit Bull" would've been all over the article/commentary, as there is typically a media-frenzy if a Pit Bull looks at anyone cross-eyed, or if any dog who remotely resembles a Pit Bull attacks anyone. The coat and tail type/set/carriage looked wrong to me. I was wondering what the heck it was when I was watching. I'd like to see a few still close-ups of the dog.

If it was a Pit Bull, I'm SHOCKED that it didn't say so in the headlines.

I thought it looked like a lab mix. Any dog that remotely resembles a pittie is going to be labeled as one when the news is negative. Just like any black  and tan dog with prick ears is going to be a GSD., any dog with a gay tail a husky or malamute and so on.
