Me to, Solid Black GSD. WL..

She definatly has a working streak - She's not very quick on the uptake, takes her a few days to actually 'get' something but once she has she's got it.  (I have an ACD bitch that in the brains dept runs rings round her, but is so driven she can't think straight most of the time!)  So Wicca is far more balanced, she seems to think about it and then figure it out.

Shes also a teeth clacker and a hand holder.  Quite demonstrative when she wants something.  Very growly when playing, barks at her toys.  The Clacking teeth is something new to me, it's like 'snap snap' really quickly in succession and seems to mean i have to do something NOW! unfortunatly i'm a slow learner so she's not getting very far LOL

I keep saying to hubby that she's a lurcher! if her legs get any longer he might start believing it!

I say too looks purebred German Shepherd. Too funny that everytime a BLACK dog of unknown origin gets labeled Lab.
The color BLACK is the only thing that dog has in common with a lab.
Beautiful dog.
Look how many beautiful purebred Shepherds are thrown away everyday.

Thanks everyone, she's a sweetheart - and having lost my boy back in august it seemed the right thing to do, she needed someone and I needed her, it felt right :)

I took her on the basis of 'She is what she is' - I'll keep you guys updated with new pics as she grows up.

Teeth clacking= high prey drive most likely. Looks pure GSD to me. Looks like black on her tongue...must be chow, LOL

I love her. She looks so smart, and if she can hold her head sideways, then her ears will look just fine. How lucky you both are to have found each other.

You described her as looking in the flesh as though
she is built to run rather than trot, with long legs;  she
has ears that want to fold;  she has a lack of pronounced
'stop';  her eyes are a little closer together than most GSDs.
There have been many lurchers / longdogs that have 
some percentage of GSD introduced.  She is from
Ireland, where there is still a lot of lure coursing.  She
seems to have lots of prey drive - so do coursing dogs.

Rather than just  "its black it must be part Lab", I really
thought about my response.  So I still say she's mainly
GSD but part greyhound or whippet.

I don't actually care whether others agree on this one
or not, just thought I would explain the thought-process !!
