x-ray needs to be retaken. The pelvis is so badly twisted, one cannot judge the depth of the socket. It also appears that the questionable sites leg has been pulled and pushed upon to <guessing> keep the girl straight as the spine twists toward the left as well. IMO if this girl would have that grade of laxicity in that hip one would see considerably changes and weardown from sliding around so much. Not saying those are the best hips, yet I think this girl deserves much more then a severe dysplastic rating.

I hope you didn't pay for that plate!! or at least got your money back.

the positioning isn't bad enough to redo - redoing it won't change anything. Obviously not passing, moderate or maybe severe dysplasia on that side. the other side isn't bad -might save the rating from being severe.

thanks guys, they will be sent in to OFA as i wont replace with out it, i even offer her money back and i guess she rather have a puppy from my new litter. ( really a nice breeding )
i am a good honest breeder and stand behind my dogs, this will be my first replacement for hips.
i did wonder about why there was no changes to the ball , wonder if its any injury, i have not see it like this before.
i will agree the xray should be taken again.
i cant stop her from sending them in , but what ever they come back , which i know wont pass , i am ok with it as even if they were done correctly i agree still wont passs maybe a mild HD.
i did not pay for the xrays the owner of the dog did and say the vet they used was a good one , i dont see it and when she told me his price i almost could dont believe a vet is that cheap.
thanks

Hexe I totally disagree. I do not care what vets who make money by spaying and neutering dogs say. I have been around dogs long enough (44 years and thousands of dogs) to know what I know . I have no ax to grind nor do I have a side issue. Really I would not care one way or the other except the welfare of the dogs.
The weight gain of spayed and neutered dog is not necessarily feeding and/or exercise problem. It is also most often ( not always) a hormonal problem. Dog with hormonal imbalance caused by neutering and spaying often ( not always) can be starved to death and run 10 miles a day and such dog will die overweight of exhaustion and starvation.
I will agree to disagree with you on this one. I really do not want to re-fight this one again.

I agree on the weight issue...I have a 4 yr old Cattle dog male that came to me as a rehoming, he was neutered at 8mths old....over the past 2 years that he has lived with me, he has had the same 3 hrs plus exercise a day and he has got fatter and fatter to the point I had his thyroid tested (which came back clear) he is ona starvation diet and still is piling on the pounds...otherwise he is fit and healthy just wobbles when he runs!
