I'm so sorry for your loss. We love our furry family members so much and when it's time for them to go the pain runs deep. My heart goes out to you. Godspeed beloved Taz.

That's so sad... :(
My cat is very attached to my moms Golden too. Every time we go over there they play tag and groom each other - it's been that way since she was a kitten. Jewel (the dog) is 13 almost, and Chey will be just heartbroken when we go over there and her friend isn't there to play anymore.

Thank you, everyone.
Its been a hard weekend. Even though he told us it was time and we respected his wishes, all of us keep looking around, expecting to see him.
Strangely enough it's been my male shepherd who is really taking it hard. I say strange because they did not snuggle together like Dawulf's picture, in fact Taz was very firm in keeping the male in line with a paw to the nose if the big puppy got too full of himself. But there must have been something there that was not visable to the human eye or understanding. My male knows what area of the house is his and he sticks to it without question but the past couple of nights, he's jumped the 4 foot high baby gate barrier, right in front of me and gone to quarter the house obsessively. I am usually calling him back (he doesn't stop till he's checked all the spots where I suppose he can still 'smell' Taz) and then he comes back up to me and wheels into basic position, perfect foos and looking at me like "Okay, I've obeyed give him back."
Talk about breaking the heart all over again.

Not so strange RLHAR; I used to have a bitch who lived with my old
cat, he was much older than her. They never became 'cuddle buddies'
but clearly respected each other. When the cat died, my bitch looked
for him and quite obviously grieved for several weeks.
Thank you for sharing; all the best to you and your family including
the dog who misses Taz so much. It does get better in time.
