i agree with the msg, just not the delivery,  Do we all agree that heartworn prevention works?, if yes then ppl should be carful not to buy from an irresposinble breeder,  their location (as far as heartworms go doesnt matter that much), im in germany wit lil mosqitos, when i go back to theus, i will be in the south.........my dogs have and until death WILL be on heartworm meds............my only point is that the op may have (imo unintentionally) turned the Right/Wrong person from the right dog for them just becsue its in miami.........responsible ppl do responsibly things, and vis versa. that 1 mosqito in alaska could infect a dog the same, and ppl in other regions because its nod a big threat may not treat @ all

Not in Miami Supakamario.  Florida is not the only location mosquitos are bad.  The point was, it takes so little effort to pervent it.  When 3 dogs from one particular kennel end up getting heartworms, obviously someone isn't being a responsible owner/breeder.  Its a common practice with this breeder to "Place" heartworm positive dogs because they get "tired" of treating the dogs. Another common habit is passing the blame on someone else.  Its someone else's fault the dogs have heartworms.  Never them.

Anyway, like I said if anyone wants to PM me, I will gladly go into more detail.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

yeah, i chose maima as an example only because ive never heard anyone on here  say they where from their, i get it, tx, to ga, va to fl......i think i understand ur point a lil better now, which was also mine, "its more the breeder than the area" but those r the areas that have the most potential..........PPL HEARTWORM PROTECT UR DOGS, especially if in south, espectially if breeding them.............

I was born and raised in the south for all my life.  I have owned, and bred dogs, lets just say, for a very long time.  I've owned more than bred, but have had many litters. Not ONE of my dogs or puppies ever got heartworms.  We have used 1% ivomec cattle wormer as preventative ever since it was first discovered it could be used in dogs. So it is kinda hard for me to understand how so many dogs from any kennel, especially all from the same kennel get heartworms.

My point was to make people aware that all it takes its is a little effort to prevent it.  Also some breeder/owners say they love their dogs. How can anyone say that if they allow their dogs to get heartworms, than turn around and pass them off to be treated, on someone else.  So once again I will say, please be careful when purchasing or getting any dogs from the heartworm prone areas of the Southern US.   Just alittle effort on the breeder/owners part and there would be no need for concern.  If anyone can not afford or just wont spend the $30.00 to get the prevention solution, they should NOT own, breed, or sell  dogs...
