The dog food is stored in a sealed plastic container. The dog food is not kept in kitchen and is kept in a seperate room which houses other doggy product like medicines, toys, and training items. Below is the pic of that container.

I am sure that it is an old stock or there is something wrong in the food itself. However, the bag mentions expiry date for march 2013

well ill have to show you the containers the worms got into at my house they can get into stuff and my dog food is in the garage and we have the cerial in a pantry in the garage and the flour and such in the kitchen the worms turn into moths that fly around quite anoying like a fly. there is always a possability that it did come in the dog food but the age of the food dosent matter for the moths. it shows up at any time even in fresh food i had 1 bowl of cerial i go to open the bag and you see the worms and the stuch. we actuly found a nest of them which i did what majorie said it was a OLD OLD dog treat container it had cardboard sides with a plastic lid i made the terrable mistake to clean the cupboard and pulled it out and opend it and it looked like something out of a horror movie and i quickly resealed the container and ran down the hall to take a shower XD. it was literaly like a spiders web with a big coccoon in the middle. was creepy as hell dont know if it was the moths or some other critter but the family had to handle it i was done with the kitchen for a week.

Thats a Moth larve. Remember they have to be in a climate that will benefit them. I would check all house plants, and around windows where moisture and organic material (dust) gather.
