Thanks all. I think we'll get one and give it a try. If it works we may get a couple more. We don't kennel the dogs together so chewing collars off shouldn't be an issue. I've seen a couple that advertise the vibration from the dog barking is what triggers it, not other dogs barking.

I use the anti bark collars on my dogs, my 10 year old male decided he would have seperation anxiety only last year and it has worked wonders for him. On the other hand my female aged 3 years does nothing for her and she can empty the damn thing within minutes!! Someone told me that the spray for persistent barkers was the mustard spray, has anyone had results from this? Regarding the batteries I agree they are a pain to get hold of and not cheap! I my opinion a rip off from the makers of these collars. However I found by mistake my local electrical shop orders them and sells cheaper than on the web. Maybe worth trying in your area. Regards Sting

I buy the batteries from the same company I bought the collar - The Pampered Pet Mall. Their current prices are $46.95 for the collar, 10.95 for the refill, 7.95 for a 2-pack of the batteries plus shipping. Sometimes they run specials. How does that compare to the price your electric shop charges? I haven't heard of the mustard spray. It only took Blitz 2 or 3 corrections to get the picture. In spite of all his bravado, he is a very obedient dog and it doesn't take a big effort to teach him right from wrong. He's good boy LOL.

Thanks Blitzen. I'll look at the Pampered Pet Mall, that's cheaper then the other places i had found.

The batteries are £3.00 so I dont think there is too much differnce in the price from UK to USA. The last battery I bought before finding the electrial shop cost £4.95. My male is very good too, he learned pretty quickly, and my female...well all I can say is I have as much chance of stopping her barking as platting fog lol!!!

I've had dogs like that myself, Sting. One, a bassett, ended up getting debarked. I just couldn't take it any longer LOL.

Hey, you are the one who called your neighbor an a$$hole not me. And it was in reference to your dogs barking. Gee how could I jump to such a crazy conclusion? You are correct. They can bark a few minutes at a time. But it never fails to irritate me that people want to own, breed, etc in freaking residential neighborhoods, think the rest of the neighbors should jump on their bandwagon. I own one male GSD. I am looking into buying a dog with more drive for higher level competition. That means I am also looking for a place "in the country" where I don't have to worry about neighbors who like peace and quiet and might not enjoy dogs as much as I do. Best Wishes, D'Mann

hello Dawnmarie, I have seen your name on numerous messageboards. You have offered puppies from breeding from VA Teejay von Wilhendorf and VA Stanley des Collines du Boischaut. If I may asked, are you a liscensed kennel? Are you a member of the BBA? Are you in compliance with your town's planning and zoning regulations? I called you town hall and they have no record of you as a kennel? Could you please explain?

Dawnmarie, I also contacted the State of Ct Dept of Agriculture. Your ACO may be having some questions to answer. The only way they could be recommending you and approving you is if you are liscensed. I can only hope this is a communication problem within your town clerks office.

Blitzen, Too funny. Yep, my Corgis just love to bark. I had one debarked and it didn't work. She barked so damn much that she grew scar tissue back in the vocal cord area and now she barks almost as load.=) So, I bought the tri-tronic collar, it still doesn't work. It shocks the sh#@ out of her as she's barking. She just keeps barking, just in a higher pitch...These Corgis just don't give in.
