Since we are discussing this, I have tattooed 12 puppies on the same day, with a pin-character type tattoo punch (hand squeezed). It has 5/8 inch letters, and was designed to be used with cattle. I used the green paste ink, which is the consistency of toothpaste. I rubbed the ink into the ear before I used the tattooing machine. I squeezed it as hard as I could, and the puppies screamed murder. I rubbed more paste into the punctures afterwards. I never washed the tattoo ink off, but allowed it to wear off. It took about two weeks or so for it to wear mostly off. NOT ONE tattoo came out! Any clues as to what I did wrong? Do you think it was faulty tattoo ink? Should I re-invest in Hauptner Tattoo equipment? Thank you for your help ahead of time. Veronica
