All BHs in the USA can only be attempted now at an age of 15 months or later. This is true of all Schutzhund organizations and I believe is also true in Germany. The rules are online, as someone else posted above. DVG has some very slight differences from United Schutzhund Clubs of America, so those of you contemplating doing a BH, read the rules and learn what is required. Then, when you are ready to work, ask here or elsewhere about details. Better yet, find someone or a club who can help you understand it all. It is a lot of fun in the right environment.

For a BH with WDA there is no requirement for a written test for the BH. For the USA there is a written test.
