Hi, Raccons Thanks for your input. by the way what kind of injury did Caro have last winter. do you know anything about it ? I also heard from others that Fritz feels that a dog should not breed during important training when they are young so I know there will be no breeding in the next year or at least until after the next WUSV. However, I was wondering more about Caro's long term potential as a champion dog with Fritz or perhaps later on with another trainer. any commetns ? Jeffrey

Hello Jeffrey, Caro had a pulled muscle in the last winter.

by dogjam101 on 18 October 2006 - 13:10

I heard that Caro is already on his way to America.

As far as I know he is staying in Germany to have another run at the BSP and WUSV for 2007. we will all find out soon enough! Jeffrey

Hello Dogjam101, 10 minutes before Caro was in his kennel in Wittelsberg/Ebsdorfergrund/Germany by Fritz Biehler. I saw him. Fritz told me that he will go with Caro next year to the Bundessiegerprüfung and World Championship.

Raccons you seem to be pretty knowledgable about Caro. the pulled muscle that he had this past winter is it something that will come back later on and affect his training and performance or is it 100% healed. Do you know anything about Carlo von der bosen bruderschaft. he was #3 BSP in 2005 but did not do well this year in the BSP. His training is a bit more controversial and non traditional. what do you think of this dog and his potential ? Jeffrey

Hello Jeffery, it is 100% healed. "Pulled muscle" was not the right word for that. Please excuse me but my English is not perfect. Sometimes I'm missing some words in my head (and sometimes my grammar is horrible). Caro had a blockade in his muscles in his back. It spended some time to find out what was happend with the dog. Because x-ray and computer tomographie was perfect. A physiotherapist resolved this blockade in two minutes with massage. After that Caro had a few dates with this physiotherapist for massage. The meanig of the physiotherapist was that it is better to do not working with the dog in this time. I do not know Carlo bösen Bruderschaft. Last year I saw him in Obedience and Protection at the BSP. A dog with much drive, perhaps to much drive. This could be his problem to make constant high trial results. But I don't know Carlo really. I saw him once on the BSP.

Raccoons thanks for the explantion on the "pulled muscle". actually, I bought Carlo bosen bruderschaft not long ago and will be soon moving him to taiwan were I live. he will train in taiwan with me and my trainer and then come back in to Europe for the 2007 WUSV as part of the Taiwan team. we are getting a very strong team together here as one of our dogs just came in #7 in the 2006 WUSV and we have a few more in training for next year along with Carlo. If Carlo's drive become too strong for consistent trial results then I will then turn him into my personal protection dog. he will like that around here. I wish Caro v. morfelder land good luck next year at the BSP and WUSV. he seems to be a great dog with the right mix of drive and control. I really enjoy seeing dogs with over all quality not just the ones that know the bitework side of the trial. jeffrey

Jeffrey: I saw Carlo at the BSP this year . . . The handler is David Buss (I guess you already know this :) . . . anyway, I don't know what was controversial about him (maybe you could tell us) other than the way he heels . . . for me it was pretty cool . . . during heeling he tilts his head straight back (so that his nose is perfectly inline with his tail and spine) . . . he doesn't tilt in to look at the handler (although his eyes are one him). I thought it was cool. I talked to Dave (his English is not so good) and I think he maybe learned it from his Dad and they do that to keep the dog's backend straight. Overall, I thought he was a really cool dog, tons of drive, and certianly a dog to have fun/success with.

Dogjam101 maybe " controversial" was not a good word to use here. You are right i was referring to the way he heels. It seems that some people ,like you and I really like this but some judges are not crazy about it. so sometimes it can cost him. not sure if he picked this up from his father or not. his father is a famous breeder of schnausers in germany. I just think david likes to be different on his own and not as tradtional. anyway, i really like the lighting speed that Carlo turns and returns to a heel at. He has a lot of drive and power and loves to please his trainer. I an really looking forward to getting him back here in taiwan as soon as his blood work for travel to Asia is ready. I tried to get him into the nov 11 national trials in the USA but his entry was rejected becaiuse he did not have a preliminary trial in the USA above 270 pts at one of the local USA clubs as this trip would have been his first to the USA. too bad they did not let him enter this event. anyway, you can see him at the WUSV in 2007 on the Taiwan team !
