If the person listed in the Bescheinigung can confirm that he sold the dog to the lady you bought her from, and you have proof of purchase from that lady, you should be ok. Contact Sabine via eMail at akc@schaeferhunde.de Before you do that, I would advise to get your ducks in a row and get in touch with the person listed in the Bescheinigung first. Then get the proof of purchase ready for the SV. Once you have proven the chain of events and the SV has listed you as current owner, you can then request a duplicate of the paperwork (if you want her pink papers - which you only really need for SV events, don't really need them once you have her AKC registered). That takes another form and a visit to the vet to confirm the identity of the dog. In the meantime, you just need a new Bescheinigung in your name from the SV, which they can send out as soon as they have you recorded as owner. Then you submit a copy of that to the AKC along with a copy of the pedigree, which you say you have. You do not need originals. The AKC will register that litter even if it takes over a year... as long as you can get the SV straightened out.

In this case, once you had as much of the paperwork gathered, I would call her. This could be a bit complicated to try and explain via email. I think it would work best dealing with her "face to face" . That way what ever questions she may have can be addressed straight away rather than sending emails back and forth. Good luck!! Let us know how you make out and if we can help you with anything else....

Thanks DH and flygirl I'll contact the person whose name appears on the Bescheinigung and start from there. Y'all have been an enormous help.
