I switch my pup's around 6-8 months depending on the puppy.

I switched my dog to adult food at 6 months old. I was just discussing this with someone. I should have done what Lady Frost did and switched her back to puppy food. She went thru weight loss around that time and I chalked it up to her 1st cycle. Before she was picking up weight a little faster than what I wanted. I was concerned she would be a big dog and she is so active I didnt want her to hit a max weight at a young age.

Hi Bob

I leave my dogs on puppy food all of their lives, never do they see adult.  The only grain I allow in my food is a bit of rice and oats.   I love that 2nd picture of your pup, tried to duplicated with Hank today, but could not keep him still for a second.

This is my take on it, seems to be working ok, I've been doing this for years, this kind
of brand for a couple of years:

What the pups are eating:

"We feed Fromm Adult Gold so as not to have the pup experience rapid bone growth that can lead to hip dysplasia and other orthopedic problems, we prefer this amount (24%) compared to higher amounts found in puppy food.  Your pup will still grow to his predisposed size for his breed, he just won't experience rapid growth brought on by high protein puppy food, as large breed dogs are prone to hip dysplasia."

For an 8 week old pup feed them 1 cup of Fromm Adult Gold twice a day:

Hi, I use Innova Large Breed puppy and now switch to Acana Wild Prairie at 6 mos.
re: the Earthborn, I have a bit of a problem with a company that uses corn and fillers up close on the ingredient list of their major food, Propac. Midwest pet products started Earthborn about a year or 1 ago. How can you go from Propac to suddening caring about what goes in your food? Tried it, Earthborn, not impressed, not good enough. Enough fat in any food will make any dog look good.

Was supposed to be about a year or TWO ago.

I forgot to mention that TOTW is a good food too, I was using the salmon kind,
the dogs loved it, I am feeding all my adult dogs raw but I've  kept some Fromm Gold on
hand only for pups, or if I'm very busy and need to just feed the dogs fast, that's when they will get some Fromm gold.

I start the switch to adult food exactly at 11 months, 1/4 the first week,1/2 second week,3/4 third week and at 12 months they are fully digesting the adult food.
