I agree, you should have looked into this kind of stuff before you bought her, however its never too late to ask so we are not going to become nasty.

Anyways, what the above people stated is true, and it could be a long process, possibly months so be patient. Also your dog sounds young, so be sure to know if your dog really is breeding quality, and has really passed difficult tests to prove itself worthy of the breed.

Some of you are really PRECIOUS about stuff!

I own a couple of imported dogs and neither have been registered here yet, just not an issue for me unless I choose to breed. Then I'll sort it out!

Papers only say what a dog COULD be......PERFORMANCE however.....:)

Classic quote. Love it. I know so many people who breed dogs strictly off of pedigree. When they buy a 8 week old puppy they know in a year or more they are going to breed her.

Also, to the OP. AKC is not the only method of registering a dog in the U.S. It is the most recognized in the  but there are other Breed Registration organizations.
