Mackenzie - Thank you....Glad I'm not alone and that it isn't my memory letting me down.
Perhaps those who say it has always been this way simply haven't been around long enough to know any different.

i,m a breeder who has only onced rehomed one of her oldies and that was because of an order that had been placed on me by my local council as i had to reduced the no.of dogs i had in a residential property to 6(had about 8 then).quite a few were oldies and meggy was the one who i knew who be the most suitable,as she was calm, very sensible .funnily enough i found a place to move too shortly after that so she needn,t have gone.i have always kept me oldies be it male or female and i know others who do the same.both my girls are oldies now,Lily is 10 and Chiki her daughter is nearly 8.i would dearly love to buy a puppy but i,m only allowed 2(am gonna enquire as to whether i can have another 1 in this rented property). If the answer is no,then i,ll have to wait till one goes over ,but i would never ever consider rehoming either to make way for a new puppy.Carole S.

There are lots of us out there Carole. I had nothing to show for years as Josh's ears never made an appearance and Buddy had a squiffy one! Mine all live indoors, I've had as many as 5 and frankly, that's too many! I wouldn't want any more than 2 maybe 3 at a push.
I was offered pick of litter replacement for Josh (from a good litter) if I wanted to let him go on to a "pet home", but... once they're mine, they're mine. Wouldn't have swapped a single one over the years, every one is special.

miss beeb-absolutely right miss beeb once you own a dog should be yours for life.unfortunately the so called BIG kennels could not possiblr do this with the amount of litters they all knock out, hence its ridiculous of people to plead they ain't in it for the money.if you done a survey of all these so called Big kennels you would see that they have a QUANTITY of bitches and stud dogs-my usual concern especially in these frugal times is does the TAX MAN know ??

LOL Pencil... hadn't thought about the "Tax man"!
