One further point Mo is that all three GSD BIS at Crufts were awarded by Cecil Wright who was President of the League at the time. Over many years of the show no KC approved All Rounder ever gave the breed a second glance.

I think that this proves a point that GSD clubs should be for GSD only then the people who do not own a GSD would not have a vote on its future.I know that some clubs would fold without the non GSD owners but amalgamation would be preferable to this fiasco.

I think you are exactly right Jim.
I have nothing at all against collies or other breeds, or indeed obedience, but when it comes to breed clubs, they are for the betterment of the breed, and the stupid thing is that B`ham are not short of cash - and could still accept all breeds at their Ch and Open obedience show, so they are not doing it for the money. They just gave one of the three branches left a large amount of money at the AGM - and the lady couldnt even explain to the meeting how she was going to make that money work for her. I suggested we get a website and advertise her club, she answered that she had put a notice up in 2 vets. They have 5 members counting the trainer and are paying £24 per week for their venue, so how on earth is the dollop of money given to her going to help. I voted that she should have it as I didnt want to see yet another branch fold, but was disgusted that it wasnt tied down to progess to make the branch rise.
Lichfield had troubles losing venue and lack of memberships, and we got on to it right away. We were given a dollop of money from the main assn - and the committee there went all out and made it work, now we are very self sufficient with plenty in the bank. When we were given our handout in 2003 - Wolverhampton branch with then 4 members said they should get the same amount too - they got it - now they need more. Its ludricous of the EC so I think my answser to Shirleys question of should we oppose the decision will be yes, thinking all this over as its another bad management issue. Mo..
