Perhaps you could lead the way as its your article, publicly declare that you are no longer going to show your dogs, because its alright writing these articles, but you have shown under " friends " or people who have handled and trained your dogs.
So come on SHOW us all THE WAY !!

Mackenzie, the point is... that when people are involved, you will get those that do favours.

If it's just a case of turning up and running in circles... would one of you mind helping me get my puppy ready?  I've clearly been doing it all wrong!

i take it you are into showdogs but if you were into the workingline you could come over here for a long weekend with your pup you would certainly be helped by some very good trainers and for free

The problem is that it is becoming more obvious to one and all and will probably get worse over the next couple of years or until the KC situation is finally resolved.

You used to get the odd rumour before shows or would be told a lot more after them but nowadays people are doing it right in front of you and the worst i have seen this year is the GSDNI.............same person as was mentioned by David Payne owns the mother of the CC winning puppy and supposedly he was going to or has taken the said dog back to Germany with him. I also noticed how the co-owners of the mothers website had changed over night and has NO mention of the of the other co-owner (Judge of GSDNI)  when it did before...............weird huh!!!!!!!.

And you wonder why people are leaving the showscene.

"same person as was mentioned by David Payne owns the mother of the CC winning puppy and supposedly he was going to or has taken the said dog back to Germany with him."

Watcher, please, if you have anything to say about us or our dogs, then have the good grace to say it to our face, you had ample opportunity at Fife!  And you surprise me, I actually thought more of you than that!!  Obviously I was wrong.

I wasn't going to reply at all but just so you can all sleep at night, Linzi is owned by Heather Macdonald & David Greer.  Uno, her son, is currently sleeping in his kennel here in Scotland.  Not sure why that part of the story was made up or was it just to make it sound a bit more juicy.  And us, more than anyone were shocked & stunned when Uno was awarded the CC, so maybe you shouldn't believe everything people say to you, without checking first.

Re our website, thanks for visiting and yes Herr Fetten was removed as co-owner, some time ago.  However, there are no rules say we cannot show the progeny from that female under him.  Many, many people use stud dogs and then show the resultant progeny under the owner of said stud dog, there is no difference and certainly no rules have been broken.  We ourselves have previously shown under this judge and did not win but no-one complained then, did they?

Again, I would ask you that if you have anything further to say about our dogs or kennel, we will be a Grampian and I will be more than happy to discuss it further with you then.

Cheers

From what you said, don't you think its a tad bit unethical though.
Can you wonder at all the sniping and backstabbing when people see that you have no scruples so why should they.
Its just the same as entering a show when you are the club secretary of that show, or showing under a judge who has trained and handled your dog.
How could a red rosette or a prize card take the place of one's reputation in the breed and its community?

by Heather on 07 October 2009 - 23:10

Yes Pencil, on reflection, your probably right , although unethical is maybe a tad bit strong, as I said, we have not broken any rules.  We went to that show with a female sitting on 2 CC's always hoping your gone have a chance of that third and hadn't even considered the puppies because they are just that, puppies.  Do you honestly think there would have been anything said, if the puppy had not got the CC?  I doubt it.  And all the other crud about the judge taking the dog home, that is just complete and utter nonsense!!  Where do they get that stuff!!

Hi Steve, big thanks for the offer!  I will be showing my puppy... next year, but I will also be dipping my toes into Sch for the first time.  I've done Ob, up to "B" and W Trials previously, but Sch is totally new to me... so keep your fingers crossed.

We all know that there are cheats and iffy judges, but it's not so unreasonable for a judge to like the type he / she produces themselves is it?  ie: You use my stud dog or buy one of my bitches and they produce to type... it's reasonable to think that I would like the progeny.

I was on a committee for 10 years and I showed at our shows.  Why should you be excluded, after much hard work, from showing at the one show it doesn't cost you a fortune to attend and you don't have to get up in the middle of the night to get there?  I guess nobody bitched because I never won.

I would imagine that more people have left the gsd showring because of all the back stabbing and inuendo's than have left because of cheating but that does not mean to say that i condone cheats as i do not we all pay the same money so we should all expect our dogs to be judged fairly We all have a right to express our opinion but it would be much better if that opinion was given under your own name  i wonder how many opinions we would get if that were the case

What is a "champion" show title? Three peoples opinions on a dog, 3 CC's,  hardly rocket science now is it?  The title champion is the biggest joke in the show scene, but Joe public love it so i suppose it's good for puppy sales.
