Alabamak9,
The dog I purchased from the breed founder died of lymphatic leukemia when she was a few months shy of her 8th birthday. She is missed. But we did have her hips xrayed several times. She was never symptomatic to her moderate dysplasia but she really didn't live long enough to see how longevity would have taken its toll.

Terry, glad you like your dogs and are happy with them, but the fact remains that they can hardly be called a 'breed' when they don't produce any definitive, uniform type, despite the length of time folks have been fooling with the project.
I've been around long enough to clearly remember when Tina Barber was running her kennel ads in Dog World magazine for her basic AKC German Shepherd Dogs, and was still showing in AKC conformation with her animals (I can still remember seeing some GSDs with the Shiloh kennel name being exhibited at both AKC breed specialty and all-breed conformation shows, as a matter of fact). It wasn't too long, however, before she began producing "Oversized AKC German Shepherds", and shifted her Dog World ads to promoting the "Gentle Giant AKC German Shepherd Dogs" she'd produced--the typical ad contained mostly photos of Shiloh-bred AKC German Shepherd Dogs that were allegedly 30, 34, even 36 inches in height, and all weighing in well over 100#. It was several years after this that she began calling them "Shiloh Shepherds" instead of GSDs, even though the earliest of her "Shilohs" were out of AKC registered GSDs, and buyers received the paperwork to register a German Shepherd Dog puppy with the AKC when they bought one of the early "Shiloh Shepherd" pups.

Whatever makes you happy is right for you. The problem is this is a hoax that is foisted on the naive. How many times do you see the amatuer breeder advertising extra large GSD or extremely big head? There are reasons for the standards and you're just screwing with mother nature when you decide to surpass them. One last thing; this just proves you can sell sh_t if you know how to packagee it. No offense meant, just trying to be frank and honest.

There seems to be some other breeds being listed on the site.. this thread might be about these dogs listed.... This is a GSD site not a Shilo/King shep site..

The photo has been updated to more accurately reflect the nonsensical pedigree.

p59teitel, I hope you didn't put that crap on that dogs pedigree. As much you or anybody else dispise Shilo/Kings you do not have the right to upload any pictures to the dogs that you do not own.
How would you like it if somebody kept doing the same thing with you because they didnt like your dog? You certainly wouldn't like it to much.
I do apologize if your innocent of all of this .. but please understand that I'm sick of tired of people uploading wrong pictures to the wrong dogs.. or trying to joke around and uploading comics onto the dogs pedigree... I really dont find this to be funny.

You're right, I shouldn't have done that. And I would NEVER do something like that to a legitimate pedigree listing.
But if you dig a litle deeper, you'll see that there's a lot worse going on with that listing than my causing the poster to have to spend 30 seconds to fix the pic. For example, check out the clearly false great-grandparents on the top of the fatherline - do you think the Roten Mater and Zisawinkel kennels appreciate having a Shiloh listed as the product of their dogs?
Also, the website of the dog's owner claims only a CGC for the dog, not a SchH III. And the owner has posted a comment under each of the several Shilohs whose pedigrees were posted today, all stating that the pedigree provided is incorrect and that one of the pictures is wrong. So not only is the whole listing bogus, it wasn't put up by the owner in the first place. She even asks how to delete one of the listings entirely.
And beyond those specific issues, this is a site for GSDs, not other breeds. Don't you find it inappropriate for these dogs to be listed here regardless of whether one likes them? What's next - Pit Bulls and Labradoodles?

Correction: there are comments posted under six of the nine new Shiloh listings asking for them to be deleted, apparently by the breeder and in some cases owner.
