I got my snap fastening collars from a dealer in UK, but they are Herm Sprenger so should be availabel from them I guess.  I don't use a prong collar often and had mine for years.

My lad was just like Brynjulf's when he came to live with me.  He was then 17 months.  He is now 9.5 years.  I have never used anything except a flat collar with him; when I first got him and he was being a complete ass (both UK & US definitions !) I  TRIED a headcollar, and I TRIED  a check-chain;  he quickly proved himself in danger of taking his eyes out, AND running away, on the first;  and choking himself to death on the second (and yes it was on the right way up).

I hate pinch collars with a vengeance (and yes I have used one a couple of times for other people & their dogs);  also can't stand the aesthetics, that bling look with huge chains n prongs does not suit GSDs IMO.

I just put an ordinary collar on, one notch tighter than normally recommended - then they do not back out of them - and used voice, food, a smack in the chops, distraction to toys, a long line,  anything and everything, until he started to calm down and listen.  And Sit to be saddled up.
Then - eventually - we went off and got him Silver KC Good Citizen.  And I don't even consider myself that good a trainer.

So don't dismiss what Chaz says too lightly.  These things can be done, when you find the right methods to suit the individual dog.  I have not yet seen the kind of collar this thread is about;  but if I had access to one and had a dog in
front of me it might work better for, I would certainly use it.  Although I do wonder about its mentioned propensities to disintegrate and/or fly open.
