Why aren't the germans trying to fix the roached backs if they are so bad??? I personally like a slight roach but not a to steep roach either.

I am with you J.F.U slight is ok but I have viewed a lot of the pictures in the pedigree and you would think they broke thier back. It looks so painful. Kinda like that older gentlemen we see every now and then with a hump back looks painful. I was told by a couple breeders they bred for that due to speed like the grey hund. They get to the helper faster has anyone heard that too?

I am not sure about the speed but maybe I have two females both sisters one is more roached than the other and yes she is faster but she is also smaller and can jump with all four feet of the froung almost over my head and I am about 5 ft so that is amazing. which breeders are breeding for straighter backs???

I have Czech working lines and I have a strighter back in my guys (Shoulders are higher then hips). I love the look when they run, they have "the old world-style topline" which will never win me a VA but I am ok with that. I love the OLD look of the shepherds, the way they were before the roach or slant and what they are still to be today in standard. I have never read a standard that say roach or slant So I will conutine to bred to the old ways tried and true/proven
