We have used SWAT before, and it works but I too have noticed it starts to loose some of its effectiveness. I like to use Screwworm Spray. You can find it at Tractor Supply, or a store like it. It is mainly used for cattle, but I have found it VERY good for the ear tips of my dogs. Keeps the flies off and allows the area to heal.

Weidest thing on fly subject. Neighbors black lab was being eaten on the back by maggots from a small green fly with dark green abdominal stripes. She found a lot of them in basement where dog lives so that is the suspected culprit. Looked them up and sounds like bot flies. Gross!! I had heard of them while living in tropics but never in Virginia. She killed the flies and treated dog with vinigar and they went away. ANyone heard of this?

I have heard if you give your dog a little white vinegar each day, it will keep the bugs away. Has anyone tried this?
