Isn't creating a potential flame war against the rules? How about posting something completely off topic? How does this help this future breeder in any way?

How do you know he is not a breeder now?  He is asking for the best mate for his dog. Did you HELP in that regard?
Besides, are you really one to be giving advice or admonishments?  Seriously, did you do all that you are inquiring of him, when you bred your dog?

Agree with Red Sable. You are hardly in a posistion to be advising anyone on breeding Brittany.

Red Sable and Bazza, Prior to breeding my bitch I spent countless of time doing contuinious research on the 2 males that I had in mind. 1 was a 100% West German workingline (Yes I was going to mix the bloodline) who is universal sieger, and won many schutzhund national awards. He was also apart of the police department in Germany prior to being imported to the USA. I spent a lot of time with this dog that I felt very comfortable with him, and his personality and temperament. I didn't just slobber over his pedigree( although it was impressive as far as seeing that his ancesters had a well astablished working ability) I was looking at the actual dog that I was going to breed my dog with. He also had a SZ number of 81 (In my book its somewhat high, but acceptable).

One of the main concerns of breeding this dog with my bitch was in fact that I don't think many people could handle the kind of drive that this dog had. He was very easy to handle, but not many people actually do the responsible thing by taking their dogs to obedience training. Dogs like him need a lot of brain simulation.

Although it killed me not to have used this dog for breeding it was for the best. I don't have any regrets of breeding my bitch with another showline. In fact the SL stud that I used had somewhat lower SZ number then the orgrinal stud dog that I had in mine. His number is 78.

The dog that I actually did bred my dog with I also spent a lot of time learning about him, and seeing what kind of dog he was. I also seen him work as well. I felt very comfortable with him and by that I decided to breed my dog with this male.

I also had many other dogs on my list. Had I been a pedigree drooler I would've bred my dog with a male that I don't even know other than the fact that he was bred many times, and that his lined are so overly linebred that it doesn't surprise me to see that both sides on the father side has the males that were all very popular VAs. This breeding would've costed me about 1500 dollars on stud services, I believe that is what his price tag was.

Brittany,  I have a question. What does "I felt comfortable with him", mean.? Could you elaborate? What did seeing your dog in the flesh tell you, that the papers could not?

I assume by "SZ" number, you actually mean ZW.

For starters, this person asked for advice back in May. I'm sure the decision is long made. Second, Brittany, you bred your untitled bitch that you knew damn well had allergies. Just stop.
