Yes please a picture.  That way I have an idea of which horse panel to order from the feed store.

I have both the Magnum and Preifert kennels. Mine are rusty too. The powder coating is not for exterior use. Galavnized is the way to go.

I just returned from Germany where I paid close attention to the European design. They have years of experience and it shows. Solid panels between dogs keeps them quiet and safe. The bars are vertical without horizontal members which minimizes jumping up on the walls.

If I thought I could get enough orders for the panels, I'd start making the ones like they have in Germany. Let me know if you're interested.

Not to hijack the thread but "Uber Land" had a thread a while back on kennels. wlpool; I rent a farm so I didn't want anything permanent or to leave something nice for someone else. My kennels, (3 now)  are on a platform. My dogs aren't destructive so these kennels are "safe Pet" at Lowes for $301.00

Also, last year I was in New Mexico looking at partnering up on a kennel and I was building a prototype, P/T w/ cattle panels you can see both in my pics. Client became difficult, (wanted 40 kennels each 10' X 20" threw off all dimensions of the material dimensions, too much waste/too much work) so  the prototype was never completed but you can see the materials/framing.

Alboe,
Where can I see the pictures?  I actually have tons of nice panels running around and was considering conversion to do stuff, but was leaning more towards buying finished product for the new place.
Where are your pictures at?

Thanks,
W

I did this also, they are most often called feedlot panels and range from 4-7 gauge and can be a variety of lengths and heights, here is a picture of what they look like http://www.tractorsupply.com/fencing/feedlot-panels/horse-fence-panel-5-ft-x-16-ft--3610375  sometimes you can find these panels with 2x2 squares but I haven't had an issue with the 2x4 squares.

Under Uber Lands' thread; "Kennels", dated  Nov. 20th, 2010 The panels are predesignated certain lengths, so if you can keep all measurements to those dimensions everything is great but if you have a client who wants to change the dimensions immensly then it's a headache cutting different sizes, making sure what you just cut can no way hurt a dog, etc., having so much waste and little worthless pieces that can't be used.

I routed a "rabbit" or groove/ledge for the panels to sit in. Once the frame wall was joined and frame the panesl is "inside" the frame, hence no fasteners needed (for the panels) now when you frame up the entire frame then you'll need fasteners. The "legs" (2'' on the ground with no panels would be planted in concrete/ground. Only the "end" kennels would be planted. I was going to build two rows of twenty with the end kennels planted.

alboe, I have always built my own chain link kennel panels, but these you did look excellent and less expensive to build. think I'm going to give one a try. thanks for the info.

Windy, if you have any of the bar type horse panels, these are very good for dogs (provided the bars are not too wide spaced). they can't bounce off them at full speed. this is the type I saw in Germany. they did have solid panels between the dogs.

Rik

for those wanting to buy the best pre-built, Mason with the 1" mesh can't be beat. Kinda pricey, but you will never have to replace.

Rik.

Can't remember the exact price of the panels? I want to say $26.00 for a 54/56" X 16". Then cost of P/T 4X4s, a 4X8 @ $8.00 a 10' a little more. The most time consuming part was routing the rabbit/trench for the panel to nestle in, Good luck and the thing was solid as a mountain.

I have heard that "chewers" might hurt or damage/destroy their canines/teeth by wearing down to the nerves or breaking the teeth on the "galvanized but I have never had a dog like that. Let us see the finished product.

Also the front was going to be framed out with 4x4s which would be strong enough for a gate/door; very little if any sagging or strong enough to frame out a drop/raise sliding door.
