I dislike UScA, SV, and AKC!

by jaggirl47 on 20 February 2011 - 06:02

But I would still rather do USA/SV because at least they have basic requirements that must be met prior to breeding. AKC does not care as long as the parents are registered.

So you'll be issuing pink papered puppies?

by jaggirl47 on 20 February 2011 - 06:02

IF I choose to breed, and that's a big if, I plan on breeding only dogs that prove themselves to be a great representation of the breed. The USA/SV requires titles and a breed survey. However, I am working on much more than that. My girl, if she meets all of the health/confirmation/title requirements will not just have Schutzhund. We are also working on herding, possibly agility, and so on. A GSD is meant to be an all around dog. I just don't believe that only Schuthund and confirmation show that.

So, if I breed, I would prefer that the pups are registered with minimal requirements and raise the bar for the betterment of the breed.

Just my personal opinioin, but the breed can be better served without complying by the standards and endorsements of crooked organizations, and furthering their stranglehold for breed authority built by your revenue.  You can play their game and earn a pretense for respect, but your personal standards are what ultimately matter.

Daryl,

How did you like your Car daughter? There was some interest in her litter mate Drago on the Alpine K9 board.

It took them a few extra years to get Drago titled as compared to his sisters, and I have to wonder why that was.  He's a very nice looking boy, though.

Darina was structurally and temperamentally a very nice female, but at a time where my wife and I decided to shift toward a type of dog that better excelled in sport, Dora was not a dog of high drives for toy or food and so, her sense of urgency on the field seemed lacking in obedience exercises.  She had an appropriate social perspective; was naturally protective and highly biddable, a good mother and fair alpha female, but hardly any fun to participate with in schutzhund sport as she did not enjoy it and her drives were barely adequate to accomplish the task with any promptness or precision.  She sure made some gorgeous family dogs though.

:) We did have a blast at our Schutzhund club today.

Daryl, my pup looks very much like you female, just not filled out yet.

I'm a big fan of Car Policia & Titus z Pohranicni Straze, although Darina was line bred 2/2 on Titus z Pohranicni Straze and seems to have a female version of Titus. I would have like to see what she and her littermates produced.

Daryl, Did you sell her before she had any litters?
