May his "family" burn in hell.

Probably not allowed to say that, but it's the first thing that popped into my head. How dare they do that to him. I wish them terrible suffering.

I'd love to be a "bigger person" but it's inconceivable to me to think about how that dog must feel and what he must think, ending up in that awful place.

That's great news! He looked so bewildered in that photo.

Anyone know the name of the rescue? I think I'll send them a donation.

Some one should do some investigating and get the name and # of the previous owner and everyone on this list call them and tell them what they think of them.

The Orange County branch of Coastal German Shepherd Rescue is the rescue that pulled Yogi from the shelter today.

I am hoping that maybe there is more to the story....maybe, just maybe we're not getting the full story and that they didn't really want to walk away from those old, noble eyes and leave him in that awful place to spend his last days.

I would bring him home, let him curl up on the couch where it's soft, give him something to relieve his pain, and see if he can't maybe have another few weeks/months to get past being abandoned and be happy, so that when he goes, he's no longer wondering what happened that he was uprooted and left with strangers.

If the owners felt his quality of life was that bad, why wouldn't they have him euthanized?  It's a hard decision to make, but sometimes it's just the right thing to do. Dumping the old fella off like garbage is no way to thank him for a life time of loyalty.

First, I am sending a donation to the rescue group for extending this poor dog comfort.

Second, I agree with Bob:" on 07 February 2011 - 00:02

I'd also want to make sure that prospective sellers know how these miscreants treated this old boy at the end.  If I were a breeder, I certainly would not want to sell a puppy to anyone who would just throw the dog away, after years of love and loyalty.   But, Jenn may be correct.  Just "maybe" there were extenuating circumstances . Maybe the owner died  or became incapacitated and it is someone else who dumped him.  Maybe....

I sure hope my "maybes" were correct, though I don't have high hopes and sincerely wish them much suffering.

And yes; I hope no one sells them another dog!
