Jim here is a link to that thread: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/bulletins_read/459978.html
3 or 4 people posted that they thought sending the money to Helser for a Flinks seminar was a bad idea, and one person provided a link to Helser court cases: http://www.mccountycourts.org/PRO/
It would have been completely innapropriate for the moderators to have tried to stop the seminar, but the mods DID leave up some of the posts warning people against Helser. What they didn't do is allow the thread to turn into yet another BASH/BITCH FEST.
Hodie, you said:
'It used to be that this site served out good and proper warnings, but one moderator has chosen to constantly delete any reference to certain breeders. I could care less. If people are silly enough to buy from unethical people they will end up with paying the "price". All I can say, as most ethical people here have said for a long time is DO YOUR HOMEWORK."
Now you know I love ya, and I'm sorry, but you are flat out wrong here. It's not the moderators job to warn people against breeders, or anything else. It's the moderators job to moderate according to the Terms of Service, and that's what I see the moderators doing, and that's a good thing. In fact, the moderator who had this board in an uproar, is no longer a moderator, but at the time the person was moderating, many people were upset, offended and highly critical of that moderator (including Slamdunc, Hans Prager, and many other posters). Right or wrong, the fact remains the members felt they were unfairly censored, complained the moderator was way too heavy handed, and was moderating according to personal opinion, rather than going by the Terms of Service. That moderator quit back in November or December (can't remember which) and many of the people who left have come back.
The way I see it, if members want to complain about a breeder or a trainer, and have first hand experience, or can link to a criminal record (as was done with Helser), then that's fine and should be allowed. BUT those threads don't need to carry on endlessly with everyone jumping on the soapbox. Enough is enough.

"Last I saw Bob's post was still up with the link to the ripoffreport.com;"
No, the court info link is still there. That was enough for anybody, I'd think.
"The mods did nothing to stop that seminar,"
Are you seriously suggesting that Oli step off the board and try to stop public events offered in the USA ? iow, the public record, which was damning, of the seminar sponsor was published on Oli's board, but you're saying that's not enough and the pdb had an obligation to go beyond that and instead of just publishing warnings, to actually try to stop the seminar??
I disagree.
