YR, I am not arguing any point......I am just saying that there is such a big difference in the 3 different systems of xraying.......Look at it this way....doing the same dog using all three systems could produce a different result each time....

So at what point in the dogs life do you say, "Ok this is it...This is the one we will go by"......
If a dog has an SV rating and is used for breeding and has produced his number of litters, and xrays are redone....Lets say this time the xrays are not acceptable as the first rating.....what happens now....Surely all the litters he has produced can not be undone...Its kinda, "after the fact"......So whats the purpose...Just because he didn't show the issue at first doesn't means he can't or didn't produce it....I am not saying that it is ok to continue breeding him, I am not..... I never did and never will breed a dog with HD or ED....

Once again, I am not trying to argue anything, just stating an opinion.....I'm all for xrays and bettering the breed.....so lets not argue about anything...I think we are all on the same page...

Interesting, I have another thread along the same lines, also asking questions. I was under the impression that HD is a polygenic trait, meaining that one gene is not reponsible for sound or bad hips? And one should pay attention to the parents/gparents' ratings? Also, just for me...... Those entities are like the "experts" on the xrays or documentation of xrays. One or the other is not like, say, "cutting corners" or "bypassing" results? Not looked down upon say if one F is SV rated and one F OFA rated or all Fs SV rated? People won't question you to as why you chose SV over OFA or vica versa?
