Good that his stools normally are ok, and by that I mean firm and formed and normal darker color (color can vary a bit depending on the food).

Keep us posted.

Really I was not trying to get anyone riled up about the bird thing.  It is that a question was asked (Has anyone had this occur in the past week or so?) . So I answered.  I certainly did not mean to worry anyone. This was not my intentions!  Have a nice day everyone!

do the stools smell normal or foul

Well I guess they smell ok for dog poop!  Nothing out of the normal, just really runny.  There has been no blood that I have seen and the vomit is a lot of bial and a little foam, there is a little bit of undigested food too.

Thanks to everyone for your concerns, we went to the vet last night and they did x-ray, there is no blockages from what we could see.  They think it is just a virus of some sort.  They said they have had serveral dogs come in this week with simular symptoms so they gave us some more metronidazole and hopefully this will take care of it.  He is doing alot better this morning.

Did you take a stool sample in and did they check that? It may be just a virus, but a stool sample would have been a prudent test for the moment.

Yes I did, there was nothing there.  They basically called it collitis.

Good. Hopefully it is just a passing thing. For now, feed him carefully, not too much, not fatty foods, make sure he has clean water, disinfect areas if possible where he has messed and hopefully he will be just fine and remain so.

Good luck.
