Praise, of course, always. My daughter's dog loves a frisbee over any other toy, so she uses a rubber kong frisbee. My pup loves darn near anything, I use a combination of food and toy coupled with voice. My oldest girl always loved a ball on a string, and other retiree loved a tug.

hiya kelly! since construction is so slow i have nothing to do all day except surf the web! can't wait for spring and my new dobe puppy from luis!

I have never used treats. Always praise. Now my Service dogs, praise and a ball, starts usually as a tennis ball then switch over to a Kong ball (tennis ball too messy)

It had better be you that the dog finds most interesting. Otherwise, you've lost already! All those artificial rewards are an extension of the dog wating to please you:-)
