I don't have a favorite breed, there are a few that I love but no one breed is my favorite.
Oh, and Don Corleone, the man Dobermann had 2 n's in his name, but the breed just has one (at least in the USA).

I assume that the "general topic" message board is visible for the other breeds on pedigreedatabase.com as well...
it's GSD for me!
I have trained  and owned lots of other breed and X-breeds, but the German GSD (working-) lines are the most versatile, sound, smartest and most couragous dogs I have met and trained with.
They will always be my favorite dogs!
Unfortunately, I have met just the opposite characters in American GSD lines (nervous, weak, unhealthy, unsteady) and I would not want to live with one.

Annette, go to usadobermann.net and ask them. And if that is the case, why not call it a Pinscher as the US has for so many years? It is a man's name. I would think it should be right. Ford is still Ford all over the world.

Don, I agree, my other breed is called a Beauceron, but of course not a recognizable name in their home country usually. Americans love to re-spell stuff, I'm not sure why, but there ya go. It's like calling Germany, Germany, but to them it's Deutschland.  How the heck did we get Germany out of that? It's their country, so their word should suffice, but guess not. Now Spain out of Espana I can see...
So, while the actual man's name is Dobermann, when referring to the breed name one n is acceptable. Personally I put 2 n's most of the time.

 GSD's and Mal's. Lida

Don Corleone

Well I just think it is different when it is a man's name and a translation isn't needed for a name. If you went to Germany, would you care if they changed your name to Anette? Pedro is still Pedro in the US. He's never been called Peter in his life.

Well, my friend is named Stephen. He works in France and is known by Etienne there, he's gotten used to it after 15+ years I guess.
We are in violent agreement on this one ;).
