JWALKER

I tell you what why don't we sit around and black list people when we don't even know theme.  Jen Is a good person I'm sure but there was some major misunderstandings between her and I.  I have had transactions with people on here that are reputable and it has all gone good.  I have never sold anything that didn't belong to me nor have I tried to.  So pull your head out of your A**  and move on.  I am asking a legitimate question.  If you don't have a answer leave it alone.

Just because you did not like our answers does not mean we have our head in our a$$....LOL

besides if he is 9 month old and is left alone (per your statement) less than 2 hrs...why crate him? I have a 8 month old that goes nuts in a crate but sleeps all day on the same pillow from her crate on the kitchen floor...its the enclosure that i think he has issue with..not the floors...when you let him in the house does he starts chewing on the floor ? or only focuses on it when he is in the crate?...logic my friend....logic....and common sense...

Yes it is only when he is in the crate.  But there are situations when he just has to be in there.  Logic told me that yes he does not like being in the crate.  Common sense tells me don't let him possibly hurt himself if I have to leave the house for a few hours.  So I know that maybe putting some toys in there with him might help. But unfortunately it didn't so now I am looking for some more suggestions.  So logic and common sense was used my friend anymore advice.

Just curious, what does the dog do if you are home while he's in the crate?

"What is a period of time? Hours? He's nine months old! That is an eternity."

Not really; it's generally accepted that dogs don't have the same perception of time that we do.  He might know that he's hungry or that he needs to go outside but probably can't differentiate between 20 minutes and several hours.

Don if I am home I do not have him in the kennel to often.  But in cases where I am trying to sweep the floor and things like that I have to put him away.  Then it is like he goes crazy.  But I have always assumed that it is just because he wants to get to the broom.

So your pup is eating through the bottom of the crate and then into the floor?

It is a large indoor wire kennel and he pushes the plastic flooring out of it and then he goes crazy on the kitchen floor.

Try more enticing treats, such as raw meaty bones.  My guys won't look at the store bought smoked bones, but will chew for hours on a raw bone.
