These are all great ideas! I am not able to adopt any more animals; however, could foster one for a short time, until a rescue can intervene. I am also able to help with transport here in the Midwest. I am located close to St. Louis, MO. -for future reference.
Another thought, and I kick myself for not thinking of this, is to refer folks calling who are looking for a puppy. I had a litter last year and still receive calls, most wanting a pet. With this reminder, Shelley, I will keep that thought on the front burner of my aged brain!
Steph does amazing work! She even helped me with a Mexican hairless rescue last year when I was in Cozumel and fell in love with a dog there! Not her breed, but obviously has a. Ig heart to help all animals and the people who love them!

All my dog and puppy calls for pets are referred to rescues. It will be a very long time before I breed anymore dogs... years. I just don't have the heart for worrying about them after they leave my care to go with somebody I haven't known for years anymore, even micro-chipped with myself as the irrevoccable first-call contact on several pet recovery databases and a sales contract that clearly states if the buyer decides not to keep their dog it comes back to me and me alone. Once the pup leaves us, they are out of our control and could end up anywhere. that's the fact. I'm too soft to make a living in dogs anymore. Better I donate my knowledge, experience and skills where it will help the most.
